About FCS
Faculty of Communication Sciences (FCS) is located in ATU's central campus, Dehkade-e Olympic. FCS became independent in 2015 when it was separated from campus of the Faculty of Social Sciences and moved to its current building.
There are currently 22 full-time faculty members employed in FCS. The members are actively offering educational and research services in the areas of communication science, journalism, and public relations, among others. Of the 22 faculty members, 3 are full professors; 8 are associate professors (readers), and the remaining 11 are currently assistant professors (lecturers).
Apart from the full-time faculty, there are a total of 82 visiting members teaching and researching in FCS. Of the 82 visiting academic staff, 70 are assistant professors and the remaining 12 are associate professors.
The Faculty is divided into 3 Departments: Department of Communication Science; Department of Journalism; and Department of Public Relations. The 3 Departments are offering 8 degree programmes.
All foreign students, that is those with non-Iranian nationalities, admitted in the Faculty could receive accommodation services in ATU's residence halls. Foreign students and applicants are highly welcome to ask their enquiries from the Admissions Office at admissions@atu.ac.ir.
Facilities
Faculty of Communication Sciences, in 5 floors, contains 35 classrooms, 10 offices for the academic staff, and 3 conference rooms. Other facilities include:
- 1 computer workstation;
- 1 library, cataloguing more than 19,500 volumes in English and Persian;
- 9 reading rooms, of which 8 rooms are dedicated to PhD students and 1 large reading room is avilable to bachelors and masters students;
- 1 restaurant;
- 1 buffet.
Moreover, as FCS is located in the Central Campus, there are other facilities which are shared with other Faculties of the central campus, including:
- 2 computer workstations;
- A Central Library and Documentation Centre;
- A mosque;
- Several reading rooms at the Central Library;
- 1 restaurant, in 4 floors, for students;
- 1 restaurant, in 1 floors, for staff and faculty members;
- A large sports complex, including swimming pools, saunas, gyms, and basketball, volleyball, and football saloons, among others;
- 2 buffets.
