On 27 April 2022, Dr Sorena Sattari, Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology, visited ATU and talked about his department's support for academic innovations.

On Wednesday, 27 April 2022, Dr Sorena Sattari, Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology; Dr Mehdi Elyasi, Iranian Vice-President for Strategic Policy and Evaluation, and Dr Hamid Zolfaghari, Director of the Centre for Strategic Technology Development had a visit to Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) and talked with Professor Abdollah Motamedi, ATU President; Dr Seyed Jalal Dehghani Firoozabadi, ATU's Vice-President for Research; Dr Ali Adami, ATU's Vice-President for Academics, and Dr Mohammad Naghizadeh, Director of the Centre for Growth and Innovation about ATU's innovative measures.

At the beginning of the session, Professor Motamedi pointed to the importance of humanities and social sciences in advancing society's goals and stressed the need to apply these sciences and increase the field's prestige among the academics, students, and the general public. ATU President then maintained that innovative and knowledge-based companies have a vital role in this respect and need to be supported by the university.

Then, the session continued with a report on the latest performance of ATU's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem and future plans in the field by Dr Naghizadeh, Director of the Centre for Growth and Innovation.
After Dr Naghizadeh, Dr Sattari expressed his satisfaction with the path taken and the future plans at ATU, emphasised the importance of innovative and knowledge-based companies in the areas of humanities and social sciences, and highlighted the need for extensive and purposeful investment in the field. Sattari then stressed that the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology would support ATU's innovation infrastructure development projects.

At the end of the session, ATU and the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology decided to formulate and conduct a project on the effectiveness of humanities in society. Moreover, to use the scientific capacities of the elites in the field of humanities and social sciences, the two parties agreed on using innovative approaches to develop an efficient mechanism to address the country's priority needs, with a particular focus on the city of Tehran.
