Iranian Public Relations Association opened at ATU FCS

In a ceremony held on Monday, 14 March 2022, the Iranian Public Relations Association was officially inaugurated in the Faculty of Communication Sciences (FCS), Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU).

Dr Aliasghar Kia, FCS Dean; Dr Hosseinali Afkhami, Head of the Public Relations Department; Dr Khosrow Rafiee, Chair of the Board, and other members of the Association participated in this ceremony.

Providing PR students with traineeship opportunities and holding specialised workshops and sessions are among the major activities planned to be implemented in the Association.

According to Dr Kia, the Association will act as a bridge between the university and the industry, and contribute to the popularity of the FCS as "Iran's Public Relations Headquarters". It will also improve the status of the Public Relations programme in Iran, he added.

Dr Kia then pointed to the Faculty's plan to set up a research journal in Public Relations and establish a PhD degree programme in Public Relations.
